Iris Type Identification
The four structures behavioural iridology reads for temperament, and the ones the Personality reading names: Jewel, Flower, Stream and Shaker.
Key iris structures
Behavioural iridology reads the structure of the iris, not its colour and not its health. Two kinds of marking do most of the work: pigment spots, the freckle-like concentrations that define the Jewel, and lacunae, the rounded openings in the fibre weave that define the Flower. An even, unbroken fibre flow with neither is the Stream; a mixture of both is the Shaker.

The four types
Jewel
In the iris: Distinct freckle-like pigment spots scattered over the iris, often darker than the base colour.
Reads as: Analytical and precise; sees the detail and explains it well. Leads with the head, values objective information and decides on evidence. Warmth is expressed through reliability rather than declaration.
Worth watching: Late delegation, silence read as disapproval, and a tendency to solve rather than ask.
Flower
In the iris: Rounded, open lacunae: places where the fibres part into petal-shaped openings.
Reads as: Warm and expressive; leads with the heart and brings colour. Visually oriented, emotionally fluent, decides on what resonates and says so out loud.
Worth watching: Starting more than gets finished, and reading a room's mood as a verdict on oneself.
Stream
In the iris: Fine, uniform, straight fibres running evenly from pupil to rim with little interruption.
Reads as: Steady and empathetic; calm, tactile, holds things together. Kinesthetic and intuitive, keeps the room level when others are not.
Worth watching: Absorbing other people's tension, and moving so smoothly that nobody notices the effort.
Shaker
In the iris: A mix of jewels and flowers: pigment spots and open lacunae in the same iris.
Reads as: Pioneering and restless; fuses head and heart into action. Driven, extreme in energy, drawn to what has not been done yet.
Worth watching: Burning through people and plans at the same speed, and mistaking motion for progress.
Most people are a blend of two. The reading names the dominant type first, then the one that softens it; a Jewel–Stream, for instance, thinks before moving and, once moved, is very hard to knock off course.
Supporting features
Once the type is named, four further features colour the reading:
- Fibre density: dense weave reads as focus and stamina; open weave as adaptability and creativity.
- Contraction rings: concentric rings in the outer iris, read as drive under tension and a performance orientation.
- Collarette shape: the ring around the pupil. Tight reads as self-contained; expanded as outward-reaching.
- Left and right: the left eye is read as the receptive, inner life and the right as the expressive, outer life. A contrast between them is a tension or a balance in the temperament.
From type to portrait
The type and its supporting features become an archetype, five trait scales scored 0 to 100 on the reading's own scale, a note on how the same structure shows up at work and at home, four strengths, three blindspots and a short development plan. Every blindspot is the shadow of a listed strength.

Most irises blend two types. The Personality reading names your dominant and secondary type and says where in each eye it saw the evidence, at what clock position.
Can my type change?
The structures are constitutional, present from birth, and do not change with mood or lighting. How you live with your type is what changes.
Is this a scientific personality test?
No. Behavioural iridology is a reflective lens, like a well-made personality quiz, not a validated psychological test or a medical reading. Read it as a mirror, not a verdict.
